Suspension of Club activities due to Coronavirus restrictions

In line with government and England Athletics advice (below) which many of you will have seen directly via email we are ceasing all club activities in April.

As a result, England Athletics advises that all face-to-face activity such as club training sessions, events, competitions, club committee and face-to-face meetings, athlete camps, running groups and social events should be suspended until at least the end of April.

It is worth noting that government and England Athletics advice also says this.

Where possible, athletes and runners at all levels are encouraged to maintain their own personal fitness and keep active during this time, while following government guidelines about safe distance and safe exercise environments.

Please note that although there will be no formal club training sessions, Active Luton are keeping the track OPEN. Many of you are Active Luton track card members. It is therefore for you as an individual to decide whether you wish to use those facilities. Note the track is outdoors and you can ensure a fair degree of social spacing. Active Luton would recommend that you do not hang around in reception or the clubhouse and do exercise all current hygiene recommendations. You can follow Active Luton on all appropriate Media to keep updated on the latest situation and news.

More widely, the Bedfordshire Open is being postponed to a date TBD.

The County champs is currently under review and entries will be suspended for the time being. Whilst it is beyond the initial April date, we can’t be sure when the situation will change and a number of our officials are in at risk age groups.

The various leagues are also postponing/cancelling April fixtures with decisions to be taken on the rest of the season in due course.

These are unprecedented times and will keep you informed as and when we have more or better information.

In the meantime stay safe but also stay fit as best you can as this will protect you from the affects of many illnesses.
